What is the Lyft Amp? Good question. It’s that (stupid) thing that lights up purple on the dashboard of most Lyft Drivers’ Vehicles. It is more prevalent and apparent at night. You can see all of the cars that have them actually…it’s alot — Alot of cars on the road have them now… So anyways– it has it’s time and place… I imagine some Lyft Drivers might feel that their passengers may feel safer and maybe even quicker recognize getting into their car if they use one especially at night…’cause it’s dark.
Despite these features the Lyft Amp is not for me.
I personally just don’t like it.
To me it’s just another distraction, another thing that I have to think about and worry about instead of thinking about and focusing on driving… I used it a couple times and it kept trying to sync to my Bluetooth or whatever. So I don’t use it anymore. Sometimes passengers ask me why I don’t have one– So I just tell them “I don’t have one.” (lul) Personally, I feel that the light from my Octopus Tablet is good enough to let passengers feel comfortable about getting into a foreign car (especially at night.) Also, all of my Pink Doodads make it quite obvious that I am a Lyft Driver— and so that’s how I operate my business.
And that’s the Lyft Amp! Use it or don’t. I’m like 99% sure you don’t have to use it if you don’t want to. It’s just not for me, I don’t use it..so f*ck it– F*ck the Lyft Amp!!
